About us

HRPA is a regulatory association governing and regulating the professional practice of its 22,000 members. It has a 3-tier certification framework based on a global body of knowledge, examinations testing knowledge and the ability to apply it, and validation of experience in order to meet the ever increasing demands of business: the Certified HR Professional (CHRP) for practitioners entering the profession, in largely administrative roles or leadership roles in smaller organizations, the Certified HR Leader (CHRL) for individuals in fully professional positions, and the Certified HR Executive (CHRE) for high impact senior leader. Today nearly 16,000 of HRPA's members hold one of these designations.
